MST Summer Meadow Hike

Gear up this August to prepare to celebrate the September birthday of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail. This guided naturalist hike will explore late summer meadow wildflowers, butterflies, and birds near Elkin in Surry County. Led by local naturalist and native plant geek Bill Griffin.

Date: Saturday August 29
Time: 8:30 AM -- 11:00 AM
Location: Meet at Isaac's Trail Head on Carter Mill Road near Elkin
Difficulty: easy level grade with many stops and starts to identify flora & fauna; 2 miles out & back

Suggestions: long pants, tick/insect repellant, water; binoculars if desired

Bonus: for those who have extra time, continue on to Grassy Creek Winery and the Forest Bathing trail, or explore a NEW SECTION of trail eastbound from Isaac's Trail Head to Adagio Winery.

ALSO NOTE: Parking is limited at Isaac’s Trail Head. Car pool if you can!
