Intermediate/Advanced Ride - Apache Wash

Let's crank up some climbing and technical as we ride a 17 mile route at Apache Wash. We will ride all of Ocotillo and part of Sidewinder (the easier climbing section), and complete the ride around Apache Wash Loop. These are intermediate level trails with rocks, dips and climbs, but nothing is too extreme or advanced.

The route will be 17 miles with appx 1,200 feet of climbing. We will stop periodically to rest and regroup. There are several trail options if any riders want more, or need to shorten the ride. Here is the route in a Trailforks map: https://www.trailforks.com/ridelog/planner/view/571354/

Timing
9:45 Arrive at Apache Wash main trailhead
10:00 Ready to ride. We will meet at the visitor center buildings

Helmets and proper safety gear is required of course. Bring 2-3 liters of water, spare tubes and tools plus energy snacks. Always smart to have a trail mapping app like Trailforks in case you get separated from the group.

WAIVER, RELEASE, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISKS
I/we hereby waive, release and discharge the Meetup group Scottsdale Mountain Bikers and its officers, ride leaders, volunteers, employees, organizers, sponsors, members, and ride participants from any and all claims for personal injury, property damage or death resulting from my/our participation in any Scottsdale Mountain Biker event.

I/we acknowledge that mountain biking is a high-risk sport. I/we realize there are certain dangers inherent in the sport of mountain biking, and I/we assume these risks with the full understanding that injuries may result from my/our participation in any event.

I/we intend this release to discharge Scottsdale Mountain Bikers from any and all liability arising from or connected in any way with my/our participation in any event, even though that liability may result from the negligence or carelessness of the above named.

I/we certify that my/our bicycle is suitable for safe use in all events, that I/we are in good physical condition, and that I/we are able to complete the event.

I/we agree to wear a bicycle helmet properly adjusted and fastened and approved by SNELL or ANSI.

I/we have read this waiver and release and fully understand its terms and agree that it shall be binding on my/our heirs and assigns. I/we consent to emergency care at my own expense if injured or ill.
