Ever noticed the Crested Saguaros in the preserve? They are very rare, but there are a good number around Browns Ranch. Join this ride to see a bunch of them scattered throughout the preserve.

The ride will be led by Bill Jackson - he has studied crested saguaros for many years along with other Conservancy science staff. This 2.5 hour, 10 mile ride is rated Intermediate/advanced and riders need to have good cardio.

A bike with wide knobby tires is required. Please, no road bikes, hybrids, or folding bikes. Please check the working order of your bike before you leave home. Helmets required. Bring water and snacks. There are restrooms at the trailhead. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start.

Timing:
8:45am arrive Pima-Dynamite trailhead
9:00am be ready to ride. Meet in front of the visitor buildings.

NOTE THAT E-BIKES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN BROWNS RANCH. The City of Scottsdale allows e-bikes in Browns only with a city-issued permit. Anyone on an e-bike must have a city-issued sticker on the bike. You are expected to ride at the group speed and be cautious about passing or encountering others on the trails.

Bring 2-3 liters of water, spare tubes and tools plus energy snacks. Always smart to have a mapping app like Trailforks in case you get separated from the group.
