Program:

“La Fiesta Mexicana” – Owen Reed. This three-movement suite channels the vibrant sounds of Mexican festivals. From church bells to street scenes, Reed’s music captures the essence of celebration.

“Vientos y Tangos” – Michael Gandolfi. A tribute to the tango, Gandolfi’s embodies the spirit of Argentina through a modern wind ensemble lens.

“Un Cafecito” – Dennis Llinás. Like its namesake cup of coffee, this piece pays homage to the everyday cultural ritual of sharing cafecito in Cuban communities.

Vanderbilt Wind Symphony presents La Fiesta, a rhythmic journey honoring Hispanic Heritage Month. The Wind Symphony is conducted by Thomas Verrier.
