Welcome back to MunichJS!
After almost 4 years we are back with an in-person event. We are happy to have a great speaker lineup at an amazing venue. We'll meet at the Alasco office in the Leopoldstr. 21 (1st floor).
There are only 80 seats - so be fast. However, if - for whatever reason - you cannot make it - please also cancel your attendance properly. 7:45pm Eric Leese:
Debugging & Stepping: How does DevTools decide whether to pause?
DevTools allows you to pause code execution at any point, step through code line by line, and inspect the state of the program. But how does DevTools decide when and where to pause? The decision gets more complicated when you configure an ignore list. Do you pause in the ignored code when errors happen... yes, no or maybe? In this talk, Eric will walk you through the different tricky scenarios in debugging and discuss the expected behaviors.
Eric is a software engineer for the Chrome DevTools.
8:25pm Florian Weininger:
Baking Up Better Bundling
Nodejs is the most used and well-known javascript runtime and webpack is nodejs´s partner in crime. But there is new technology trying to take the crown. Let´s take a look at Bun, a all-in-one JavaScript runtime & toolkit designed for speed, complete with a bundler, test runner, and Node.js-compatible package manager. Will this alternative technology rise like flour or are the old kings still cooking?
Florian is a passionate software engineer working at smapiot. In the past decade he gathered a lot of hands-on experience in software development, application conceptualization, and architectural design. His journey has led him to wear various hats, from leading development teams as a Lead Developer to steering projects as a Project Manager. He also holds the title of a certified SCRUM Master.
See you on Wednesday, the 13th of September 2023 in the Leopoldstr. 21 - first floor. In case of questions don't hesitate to write us.
By the way: We are always looking for speakers. If you have any ideas or suggestions (or want to speak yourself!), please don't hesitate to let us know.
