Welcome back to MunichJS!
Let's continue embracing the JS community with another in-person event. We are happy to have a great speaker lineup (and something new - see below) at an amazing venue. We'll meet at the adesso SE Munich Office in the Streitfeldstr. 25 near Leuchtenbergring. (To avoid confusion: You will need to ring the bell for the door to open!)
There are 100 seats available. However, if - for whatever reason - you cannot make it - please also cancel your attendance properly. As we had a quite high no-show rate last time we'd appreciate your cooperation on this one.
Thanks to adresso SE there will be food and beverages.
We'll open the doors at 6:30pm with the talks to begin at 7pm. Every talk is about 30 minutes long - we'll have 5-10 minutes between each talk.

Talks
7:05pm Marco Sieben:
Christmas is coming: Time to decorate your TypeScript Functions
In TypeScript 5.0, support for the upcoming ECMAScript decorators was introduced, and 5.2 expanded this with support for decorator metadata. In this talk, we'll dive into how to effectively use these features within our projects. We’ll explore practical use cases and even provide a treat on how to improve your code’s performance in the upcoming Advent of Code challenge.
Note: This talk is inclusive to all people, whether you celebrate Christmas or not.
Marco is a senior full-stack developer at andrena objects ag. Thanks to TypeScript, he has been converted from a frontend skeptic to a frontend enthusiast who loves to try out new features and frameworks. Despite waking up at 5:30 AM in December for the past two years, he still hasn't cracked the global Advent of Code leaderboard - but that's about to change this year (probably. possibly. don't quote me on that.)
7:45pm Max Kless:
Monorepos & Spaceships - Navigating successfully through Code and Cosmos
Building a monorepo is like flying a spaceship: many people work together to make sure things don't go up in flames.
In this talk we'll go over tools, techniques and best practices to help us put out fires and stay on course throughout our intergalactic journey.
You'll learn about
- Polyrepos, what they do well and where they fall short
- Monorepos, what they are and how they can solve a lot of common problems
- Monorepo Tooling, what you need to ensure your experience stays smooth as you scale
Disclaimer: attending this talk probably doesn't qualify you to fly spaceships!
Max is a software engineer at Nx and works on the core team. He spends a lot of his time building Nx & Nx Console - a VSCode and JetBrains extension for Nx workspaces. When not digging through code, he spends his time travelling, reading and listening to music.
8:25pm ANYONE interested:
Lightning Talks (max. 3)
You want to share something? This is your opportunity! Just message me or talk to me at the venue and present your project, insights, or ideas in a quick 5-10 minute talk.
Be quick: We'll have max. 3 contributions.
See you on Thursday (!), the 14th of November 2024 in the Streitfeldstr. 25 near the S-Bahn station Leuchtenbergring. In case of questions don't hesitate to write us. Also again if you missed it: You will need to ring the bell for the door to open!
By the way: We are always looking for speakers. If you have any ideas or suggestions (or want to speak yourself!), please don't hesitate to let us know.
