By now, I think I've watched every episode of "Bob's Burgers" at least a dozen times over that past few months. Today I spent time watching someone waiting for their car's oil to be changed. Tomorrow I may go to Costco, perhaps Trader Joe's. I am a free spirit, a rebel in that respect.

And yes, I am living a rock and roll lifestyle.

If you too have also embraced a rock and roll lifestyle of your own, and maybe need to ground yourself a bit, I may be able to help.

In between all that excitement mentioned above, I've also been working on bypassing the whole grain step in mushroom production with liquid culturing. It'll be faster, surprisingly less prone to contamination, and yet yield exponentially more mushrooms. I'll likely have that ready soon.

Don't know what I'm talking about?
No problem, I will go over everything that is required. As with most of our meetings, you can be a complete novice and participate.

I'd like to put together an online meeting. I'll put together a kit that can be picked up at a central location here in town. Inside will be two experiments; two adventures in life, and in science. A good number of people have expressed interest in this by email and Meetup messaging.

One project will be everything you need for one of our mushroom Meetup meetings that we used to have every few weeks. I'm thinking that the liquid culture may be a possibility, but I do want to make sure that I've got the bugs worked out before I put it out there to you guys. If not that project, it'll be some other interesting mushroom growing project, maybe growing Reishi. Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) is a truly remarkable mushroom that only grows, and thrives, in really warm temperatures. It's also a native of Arizona. You'll just need to supply some household items like soap and water, a butter knife and maybe a candle. I'll work around any need for alcohol.

The second project will almost certainly elicit a childlike wonder. It's not a mushroom project at all, simply pure joy. This will be a lasting project, perhaps even a few months, though the results should be seen in the first week. That's, at the very least, weeks of intellectual and emotional bliss, a diversion from the everyday stresses of life. Almost a buddy for you to talk to, and one that will talk back to you in it's own way, and a surprisingly not so subtle way. If this sounds all "foofy" and New Age-y, then get back to me once you give this one a shot. It's a personal favorite of mine, and one many of you will remember for years, if not your entire life. If life, all life, fascinates you, you'll undoubtedly like this one.

So that's it, two projects to last you the next few weeks. At least one of these should grab you.

Once you pick up your kit (at a site yet to be determined), the class will soon follow. This will be online. Maybe we'll go with Zoom for the meeting, maybe Discord. I'm totally open to suggestions to make this as easy for everyone to participate as possible, even those that aren't tech savvy. I'd like to also post the instructional meeting online. so that you can review it, or watch that if you can't make the live online meeting.

That's pretty much it.

The cost for the two experiments in the kit will be $50. That's $25 per experiment. I'll have to order supplies ahead of time, so payment will be needed at the time of registration. Once we have the first 10 members registered, this event will happen, and I'll begin to buy supplies. Because I'll be spending your class fees at that time, they will then be non-refundable. In the unlikely event that we don't register 10 participants, everyone will get a full refund. I'll send payment information to those that register via private messaging on Meetup.

I think that's about it!

I hope to see you you all there!

PS: For those that messaged me on Meetup and I never responded, please do so again. I didn't blow you off, just dropped out for a bit. I know there are messages I missed. My apologies.
