Growing Enoki Mushrooms At Home. The Saga Continues... Part II

Details

This class will be the second in a series of three that will get you up to speed on mushroom growing techniques whether or not you've had any prior growing experience.
All the methods that will be taught can be used for both home growing, and commercial production. We will be covering all the fundamentals in this three part, casual, no experience necessary, hands on class. Classes will meet approximately every 1-2 weeks depending on the speed our mushroom cultures grow. Everyone gets their own cultures to take home.

This class is a sure bet. Very little risk of failure for anyone attending, even if you know nothing about growing mushrooms. Well be growing the ever popular and extremely healthy and tasty Enoki Mushroom (Flammulina filiformis) pictured above in its wild and domesticated form. It's an easy one to grow, even at home. It's fairly fast to fruit and straightforward to culture even for total novices in mushroom cultivation. You will end up with the freshest mushrooms possible, and along with that, the bragging rights that you grew them yourself. Oh, and they do taste awesome and as previously mentioned, are very healthy.

Everything you need will be provided for you in class. Because of this, we would normally be charging a lab fee of $35 for this class. We had a grant for our last class, last week. Everyone that showed up, attended for free.

Since last week, the agency that generously provided the grant for everyone at the class, Abundant Harvest Cooperative, realized that not everyone at their organization had signed off on the grant. Because of this, those attending will have to pay for the last two upcoming classes (which include this one). Sorry about that.

As a token of our good faith, we will lower the fee for this class to $25, a discount just short of 30%. I hope this helps you out a bit. Unfortunately we do have to pay for materials used in the lab section of each class. If you really have no funds for this class, please contact me via Meetup, and we'll work something out. We try to never turn anyone away for lack of money. This has been a policy since we first began. Knowledge is always important.

Once again, no previous experience with mushroom growing is required and no lab skills are needed. Everything you need to to know in order to grow mushrooms will be taught, and all equipment provided. We will provide the living mushroom cultures. It'll be fun, and you'll meet like-minded people.

So there's your "sure thing," almost 100% guaranteed to get you growing your own mushrooms. In the end, you'll be left with a block of spent mycelium that's totally compostable. A mushroom "crop" requires less water to produce a pound of food than nearly every other crop being cultivated.

We hope to see you this coming Thursday!
