Music Jams at Sunrise Movement House

Sunrise Movement Dallas is hosting free Music Jams at the Movement House!

What are the Music Jams?
Glad you asked! Music Jams––hosted by Movement House team member Dale (guitarist)––is a biweekly session for all musicians of all experience levels to join together and jam!

We play all genres, welcome all instruments (guitars, keyboards, bongos, accordions, triangles...everything!), and people of all experience levels. We're a friendly group and this is a no-pressure environment to learn, have fun, and connect.

At the house, we have a drum set, hand drums, egg shakers, mics and amps. Feel free to bring your guitars, horns, and whatever else you play.

What is the Sunrise Movement?
The Sunrise Movement is a national organization dedicated to pulling out all the stops to stop climate change. Among advocating for the Green New Deal – a series of policy proposals that will transform how the U.S. addresses the climate crisis and creates millions of jobs in the process – we work to end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics. Sunrise has many chapters across the country; the Dallas one started in 2019!

What is the Movement House?
The Movement House is the place where people dedicated to making a better world show up to brainstorm, collaborate, and host awesome social and educational events. It's the heart of the Sunrise Movement Dallas and a space for us to plan, unwind and connect!

Do I need to play an instrument to join? Do I need to be a professional?
Nope! You're totally free to sing along, or just listen if you want.

Do I need to join the Sunrise Movement to attend a Jam?
Also no! This is totally open to the non-members so we can foster community in Dallas. But, if you're passionate about making a healthier, greener world, you're always free to join. :)

NOTE: The Movement House has a pet cat. If you're allergic, please let us know and we can put her away. If you have sensory sensitivities, also let us know–we're open to doing an acoustic-only instruments for the first hour.
