Samuel P Taylor Park: Bill's Trail to Mt Barnabe Peak Loop. 6 miles/1340 ft gain

This is a gorgeous hike with some amazing views! There is a long but steady and mild climb up through a mostly forested area for about 4 miles to the peak. There are many switchbacks, but it's a very mild and pleasant grade. The last part of the peak is exposed to sun. The views at the top are STUNNING!! Then we go down a much steeper grade with some loose gravel for 2 miles and this part is a bit more challenging. I recommend bringing your poles for this and definitely steady shoes with good traction as it can be slippery. 6 miles and about 1340 ft elevation gain.

There is some poison oak on the sides of the trail so I would recommend wearing long pants.

Devil’s Gulch Fire Road Trailhead, Devils Gulch Fire Rd, Nicasio. Please see the meeting spot to the right.

There are no bathrooms or water at the trailhead or anywhere along the trail. Please plan accordingly.
