PLEASE READ TO THE END:
Beautiful hike through Muir Woods via Sierra Trail to Camp Eastwood to Plevins Cut, Bookjack Spur, up Bootjack to Troop 80 and back to Sierra Trail. 4.3 miles and 825 feet elevation gain.

This is a beautiful hike through the forest. We go down first and climb back up on a gorgeous section of Bootjack along the creek.

There is some tricky footing, so I'd recommend wearing good boots and using poles. It's almost all in the shade with very little sun exposure. There are no bathrooms or water at the trailhead but we will find them about one mile into the hike when we get to Camp Eastwood.

Because we enter the park from Sierra trail, there are no park fees.

Parking is free but LIMITED and it's a bit tricky to find the trailhead. Please use your GPS for the easiest directions. Use the link to the right, or try typing in "Sierra Trail Trailhead" in Google Maps. It is almost exactly one mile past The Mt Home Inn on Panoramic Highway. There is no parking lot but there are some cut outs on either side of the road. You may need to park a bit before or after the trailhead. There is a *small" trail sign to mark the trailhead. When parking, please be considerate of the space you take up so we can accommodate more cars. Thank you!

Please have "boots on" and be ready to hike at 9:30.
