Baltimore Canyon, Dawn Falls, Blithedale Ridge Loop. 7.7 miles/1660 ft.
Details
Hi Ladies,
I've been loving hiking through the Baltimore Canyon lately. I have not yet done this particular custom route. So, please think of this one as exploratory. The Canyon is a beautiful forest filled with Redwoods, Douglas Firs, Bays, and Madrone trees. It's shaded and cool in the canyon but on the Ridge we will have more exposure. Some tricky footing so good boots and poles will be helpful.
We will start on Piedmont Trail to Dawn Falls Trail. The falls are not falling yet but maybe by then they will? We'll hike up the Dawn Falls switch backs to Hoo Koo E Koo, and to Corte Madera Creek Trail. We continue on to Horseshoe Fire Road to the Blithedale Ridge Fire Road, Then we'll take Maytag, Elinor, Glenn, Huckleberry Trails back to the cars.
This is our hike. PLEASE DOWNLOAD AS A BACKUP: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/map/custom-route-hoo-koo-e-koo-blithedale-huckleberry-piedmont-and-dawn-falls-loop-a367c52?u=i&sh=q3rnww.
Please bring snacks and water. We will take a very short break along the way.
There are no bathrooms or water sources.
Parking. Please drive down to the end of Piedmont Road in Larkspur and look for parking along the road. There is no lot. We will meet at the end of Piedmont where it turns into Coleman. For GPS, you can use the address of: 30 Piedmont Road, Larkspur.
Please have "boots on" and be ready to hike at 9:00.
