SUPER 15!
SERRANO RIDGE TO LAGUNA COAST WILDERNESS and back, 15 Mile Loop from Irvine. Approximately 600-800 feet of elevation gain, approximately 6 hrs (?), 9:00 AM

MEET AT QUAIL HILL COMMUNITY CENTER PARKING LOT near community center steps. 39 Shady Canyon Dr · Irvine, CA

Advanced Intermediate hike due to length, not for beginners, sorry, no dogs.

This is a beautiful hike through some open meadows and slight canyons! Look out for Emoji Rock! The hills are moderate, under 900 feet of elevation gain. Behind the Community Center, we’ll hike Quail Trail to Serrano Ridge through Irvine Open Space Preserve and beyond to Laguna Coast Wilderness with a quick turnaround through Nix Community Center and back to Serrano Ridge and our starting point.

If time permits, I’d like to mill around in The Nix Nature Center for a rest, besides it has pretty cool little displays inside.

Laguna Canyon Foundation will be out and about same day doing Trail Stewardship. I will book one of these in the future.

Shady Canyon/Quail Hill, scenic and filled with beautiful views, meadows, wildlife and charming bridges. This trail is part of Irvine Ranch, and meanders through the Quail Hill Preserve and borders Laguna Coast Wilderness.
