Depending on the business use case, scalability
    trumps absolute financial integrity(ACID). In
some use cases, such as real time streaming with
Apache Storm parallelism of application tasks are
    technically vogue.

Great talk last night Sean Anderson! Many thanks to all the organizers. For those I didn't get a chance to connect with working in financial services (or who want to be), I'd love to connect for a cup of coffee before the next event. Sent me a line at mike at regsintel.com

Great presentation -- The CAP theorem is
fundamental for Cassandra, aka, eventual consistency.
RDBMS's as the presenter pointed out with ACID
    - a slam dunk for transactional bean counting.
If there was more time, it would have been interesting to explore Hadoop on the cloud.

Yeah, I especially liked the slide that put ACID in one column and BASIC in the other, anyone remember the funny punchline for that? ;-)

I'm thinking about going however I will not if there is no discussion of document data stores. Will there be discussion of such alternatives to the forced referential integrity normalization monster called SQL server ?

    January 6, 2015

    • Nikki T.

Hi Doug! Come along as we will discuss document data store, MongoDB! If you need more details reach out to me direct - @nikkitirado
