Architecting for Active/Active Operations to Maximize Uptime & Capacity

Free food, beer & drinks, swag and much more!

Michael Hughes, Global VP, ScaleArc

A Database Month event

Active/active operations deliver the greatest uptime and capacity. But technical challenges, data integrity concerns and costs have traditionally limited vaibility of deployment. Learn how to avoid the pitfalls and deploy an active/active-ops environment most efficiently, with real-world case studies.

In this event you will get real-world advice on how to support active/active ops and will learn:

• Why DR (disaster recovery) is no longer sufficient

• Challenges of architecting the data tier for active/active ops

• How to debunk myths around the economics of active/active ops

• How using an abstraction layer at the data tier can simplify your architecture

• Why the cloud alone will not solve your problems

• Reference architectures and case studies of successful implementations

Attendees at this event will:

• Understand the application impact of building for active/active ops

• Learn best practices for database deployments to limit the impact of database downtime on application availability

• Hear lessons learned from customers who have enabled active/active operations across data centers
