Meditate / Hike Herrick Lake - Wheaton

Hello All,
This will be a sober event.
I have hosted this event a couple times now, with a lot of positive feedback. I would like to start a 7 event meditation on " 7 steps to master your thoughts". I have been going through these steps myself and would like to share it with our group. Please keep in mind, I am not a professional. I am only sharing what I have learned and am doing myself.
I will be getting there at 8:30am to read, journal, etc... The meditation portion will start promptly at 9am. Meditation Step #1 "Recognize and Acknowledge your thoughts"
Instead of having an activity then socializing after, the first 30 mins will be to connect and share about our day, week, etc… There are some picnic tables we are able to use. We will take a few minutes for some breathing techniques / meditation, then each of us will be allowed 5 minutes to share, sharing is not required. You can bring a quote, passage or book to read from if you would prefer. You we welcome to pass. If you are running late, please be quiet and simply join the group. We will then go on our hike. You will be able to take your stuff back to your car before the hike.
This event we will be hiking Herrick Lake. It is a crushed limestone trail. It will be a 4-mile fast pace hike. Should take about 1 hour to hike. We will first head South on the eastern side of the lake, then take the loop around.
Please park in the lot off Butterfield Road. I will setup as close to center of the lake as possible, when you drive into the lot. You will be able to park on the left or right. I will be parking to the right.
