Server-Side Rendering (SSR) can significantly improve page load times. It is used by major public-facing websites to optimize performance. NextJS is a framework that enables SSR for React Single-Page Apps (SPAs). Our team at Asurion recently implemented it and saw significant improvements in page load performance. We want to share what SSR is, how to implement it with NextJS, what we learned, the challenges we faced, and the impact that we've seen. We believe that other teams looking to improve page load times can benefit from it.
