*Founder and restaurateur Shane Nasby named the restaurant in honor of his late grandpa, Cledis Nolen, who owned and operated the Midway Cafe in Charlottesville, Indiana throughout Shane’s childhood. Inspired by his memories of growing up in a small town, Shane designed Cledis as an homage to a slower and simpler time when sharing a meal at a local restaurant was a way for neighbors to stay connected with one another.*

*Shane also hopes to carry on his grandpa’s legacy of unwavering kindness and generosity. Going beyond serving great food, Cledis is on a mission to combat hunger and hopelessness in our city. We proudly partner with People Loving Nashville and give our time and resources toward their programs which offer relief, relationship, and restoration for our hungry and unhoused neighbors.*
