Everyday Leaders
UX and Product Design disciplines continue to evolve at a mind bending rate while our leadership and team-development skills tend to get pushed into the back seat as afterthoughts, at best. This environment is setting us up for an era where we have intensely talented and innovative product and design teams who are not equipped to deal with even the most basic team-development and leadership issues, in the end minimizing the impact they could have had. We’ll talk about some strategies you can use, regardless of your role, to fill in skill gaps and keep your teams healthy, happy, and shipping great stuff. --- About the speaker: Daniel Ferreira has spent his career as a Product Designer building innovative, high performing teams that scale at concept stage startups, Fortune 500 companies, and everything in between. Currently, as Lead Product Designer at Edgenet, Daniel is helping re-imagine a successful suite of enterprise products for the new era of online shopping and retail. --- Agenda 6:00 - 6:45 > Drinks, Snacks, Networking 6:45 - 7:30 > Introductions & Discussion 7:30 - 8:00 > Additional Networking, Closing Remarks Ongoing sponsorship from Nossi College of Art and Design, TekSystems and Bridgestone.

What is user experience?

UX or User Experience is everything the user of an app or site touches, sees, clicks, taps, and experiences; where user goals meet business goals.

UX managers and hands-on leads strategize with business and product teams to define strategy, and work with implementation teams to deliver solutions.

UI stands for User Interface, which is the screen or surface a user sees and interacts with. UI comes from the UX and product strategy; UI is the tangible output.
