March Meetup: "Branching Out From Twig" with Paul M. Jones
Details
Nashville PHP is finally back in person! Join us this month at our new location for Paul M. Jones's talk Branching Out From Twig; or, "Yes, you *can* do that with native PHP". He'll give us a short history, discuss why we use them, and review the tradeoffs made by current templating systems. We'll also look at the challenges involved with doing a static analysis of your templates.
We'll have food for everyone, so please RSVP so we know how much to provide!
Fun fact: Did you know PHP was originally designed to be a dynamic templating system for webpages? The creator Rasmus Lerdorf famously said, "I don't know how to stop it, there was never any intent to write a programming language [...] I just kept adding the next logical step on the way."

Nashville PHP is a community of PHP and Web developers serving the metro Nashville and Middle Tennessee areas. Everyone is welcome, no matter your skill level. Come learn with us!
Follow us at @nashvillephp@phpc.social on the Fediverse or at @nashvillephp on Twitter.
Parking: There are a few spots to the side and rear of the building, but please *do not* park in the church parking lot. (They have a sign warning you. It’s hard to miss.) You’re welcome to park anywhere else. After 5pm, street parking is usually easy to find, especially along Magnolia Blvd.
