About us

We hike everywhere! Nassau, Suffolk, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx, Upstate NY! This friendly group share a common appreciation of the outdoors and participates in local hiking and events, as well as some out-of-town short roadtrips, including Longwood Gardens, Pocono Environmental Education Center, Sleepy Hollow, Minnewaska State Park, and more. We celebrate throughout the year with holiday parties, picnics, and other various activities.

Due to weather forecast, date changed from Sunday to Saturday. Beach and Seal Watch Walk - lunch afterwards - bring binoculars, photo taking equipment and patience (never a guarantee for seals!) - must be quiet not to scare seals!

Meet at 9:30 am in parking lot, hike leaves parking lot promptly at 9:40. Late arrivals can catch up.

The seals are usually on the bay side at lower tides. We will walk the ocean side and cross over to bayside. We will stay and watch for a while.

Lunch afterwards: Atlantic Seafood Restaurant & Fish Market - comment on Meetup if you plan to join us for lunch - reservations mandatory.

Let’s shake off some of this cabin fever wirh a nice walk through rhe Massapequa Park Preserve. Due to the recent weather, we will stick to the paved trail. Enjoy the scenery and great conversation. Bring a drink, a snack and a smile. Snow or rain cancels.

Meet at 10:15 am/ leave promptly at 10:25 from the main parking lot. Free parking for seniors.
Join Rhonda for a moderately paced hike around the
3-mile paved loop. We will take an optional 2nd loop around. We will see beautiful views of the Long Island Sound. Bring water and a snack. Rain or snow cancels hike. Sneakers are OK. The paved path is plowed but possible icy spots.
This hike is replacing Stillwell because of trail conditions.
Directions: Address: 25 Lloyd Neck Road, Lloyd Harbor. Meet near brick wall by parking lot.
