We will begin with a walk around Swan Lake. We will move our cars for a short 5-minute drive. We will explore some of the carriage paths designed by John D. Rockefeller that take us along shady river lanes with views of the Hudson River and wooded paths to panoramic vistas. We will encounter some hills with one that is steep. The fall foliage should be spectacular. Optional walk in Tarrytown for dinner / ice cream. Optional walk increases mileage. Bring water, lunch, and snacks. Wear hiking boots or sturdy sneakers. Rain cancels.
Directions: Throgs Neck Bridge to Cross Bronx Expressway. Exit 4B to Bronx River Pkwy. Bronx River Pkwy becomes Sprain Pkwy then Taconic Pkwy. Exit at Route 117 - Sleepy Hollow / Pleasantville. Turn Left on Route 117 going West. This becomes Phelps Way GPS: Rockefeller State Park Preserve - 125 Phelps Way, Pleasantville, NY 10570
