Hola! Por fin este sabado sale el sol! ☀️. Por lo que vamos a hacer una ruta preciosa en compañia hasta el arbol Milenario del "El Tejo de Barondillo"! también conocido como el Tejo del Arroyo o de Valhondillo. Este encuentra en la ladera norte de la emblemática Cuerda Larga, justo bajo las Lomas del Pandasco, en el corazón del Valle del Lozoya, con una vista impresionante del majestuoso Macizo de Peñalara. Este árbol es un ejemplar de tejo común con una edad que oscila entre los 1.500 y 2.000 años, convirtiéndolo en el ser vivo más longevo de toda la Comunidad de Madrid. Desde 1985, forma parte del catálogo de especies protegidas, un verdadero tesoro natural.
Además del tejo en el Valle del Lozoya podremos ver otras especies como el acebo, el abedul y, por supuesto, el pino albar, que predomina en este valle. Los bosques de helechos, con su verde brillante y lleno de vida, crean un paisaje precioso!. Además en esta época del año, el río fluye con muchísima agua, formando cascadas y chorreras, haciendo de esta aventura una experiencia llena de naturaleza y espectaculo! 😃

Despues para celebrar la ruta nos tomaremos unas merecidas cervezas y unas tapas por el pueblo de la Cabrera!!. :-)

SE ACONSEJA TRAER: Botas de montaña, ropa de Otoño e Invierno, crema de sol, chubasquero. También 1 litro de agua y algo ligero de comer (zumo, frutos secos, fruta..) y bocadillo.

***Hora y lugar de salida*** : Iremos los que quieran en autobús público conmigo (gratuito para los portadores de abono transporte C2 de la comunidad de Madrid) en el intercambiador de Plaza Castilla y los que tengan coche o quieran compartir gasolina, con el propio conductor en su propio vehículo, quedando en un segundo punto. Para todo esto nos organizamos tod@s por whatsapp:

1. En Autobus: Quedaremos a las 08:40 am en la estación del intercambiador de Plaza Castilla en la fila del autobús 191 del Intercambiador de Plaza Castilla.
2. Si vais en coche: poneros en contacto por el grupo de whatsapp para indicaros el 2 punto de encuentro (de inicio de ruta). Y organizar el compartir coches y gasolina. (se estipula el gasto a 14c/km a repartir entre los que van en el coche, siempre que el conductor desee compartir su vehículo).
3. Si vais desde otra dirección o fuera de Madrid, por favor ponerse en contacto con el organizador.

The Barondillo Yew, also known as the Stream Yew or Valhondillo Yew, is located on the northern slope of the iconic Cuerda Larga, just beneath the Pandasco Hills, in the heart of the Lozoya Valley, offering a stunning view of the majestic Peñalara Massif. This tree is a common yew specimen, estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old, making it the oldest living being in the entire Madrid Community. Since 1985, it has been part of the protected species catalog—a true natural treasure.
But the beauty of this route doesn't end there. Besides the venerable yew, you can admire other tree species such as holly, birch, and, of course, the dominant silver fir. The fern forests, with their bright green and lively appearance, create a magical landscape. During this season, the river flows abundantly, forming waterfalls and cascades that accompany our journey, turning this adventure into a full experience of nature and wonder. A great opportunity to reconnect with nature and share a memorable experience in good company.

Afterward, to celebrate our achievement, we will enjoy some well-earned beers and tapas in the town of La cabrera! :-)

### Recommended Gear:

Hiking boots, mountain clothes, raining jacket. Also, bring 1 liter of water and a light snack (juice, nuts, fruit...) and a sandwich.

### Meeting Time & Place:

Those who wish can take the public bus with me (free for those with a Madrid public transport pass) from the Plaza Castilla transport hub. Those with cars or who want to share fuel costs can meet with the driver at a second meeting point. We will coordinate everything via WhatsApp.

• By Bus: We will meet at 8:40 AM at the Plaza Castilla transport hub, in line for bus 191.
• By Car: Contact the group via WhatsApp to get details on the second meeting point (hike starting location) and to organize carpooling and fuel costs (estimated at €0.14/km, to be split among passengers, provided the driver agrees to share their vehicle).
• If coming from another direction or outside Madrid, please contact the organizer.

Después de cenar podemos quedarnos en el bar con música, o irnos A CUALQUIER BAR DE LA LATINA donde tod@s queramos y que esten cerca del restaurante, y lo mas importante este es un evento completamente gratis de Naturaleza y Deporte, Madrid. ✨

Hello EVERYONE!! We are going out for dinner or just to have some beers on Friday night!! (NO CHARGE FOR THE EVENT) 😃

We’re going to HAVE DINNER together at a super cool bar just for us in a private area!! There will be music, and you can drink and eat whatever you want. There will be people to introduce to those who come alone or are new. After dinner, we can stay at the bar with music, or go to the LA LATINA AREA, which is next to the restaurant, or we can go wherever everyone wants and suggests. The most important thing is that this is a completely free event organized by Nature and Sport, Madrid. ✨

By the way, all nationalities are welcome, even if you're English!! 😂😂
