What we’re about
This is a small group of nature and birding enthusiasts. We enjoy our natural world, and also participate in citizen science whenever possible. We usually record our bird sightings on eBird (Rudy does it), and we sometimes enter data into inaturalist and other information sharing programs. Apply to join and tell us about your interests.
Meetup Legalese: by joining this group you hereby acknowledge that you have read and understand section 6.2 of the Meetup Terms of Service Agreement that releases Organizers and Creators or Hosts of this group from all liabilities and claims. https://www.meetup.com/terms/

See all- eBird Global BIG DAY Bird Count at Tolay Lake Again!Needs location
eBird is once again encouraging everyone to take part and count birds at any location they choose. Roger and I covered Tolay Lake last week and it's a wonderful spot to go birding and find Golden Eagles and 40 to 50 bird species on any day.
I usually conduct these counts with a small group that is familiar with the task. You're welcome to sign up on the waiting list if you'd like to join us and we can form another small group if we have enough people.
Tolay Lake east of Petaluma is the largest Regional Park in Sonoma County. It is easy to find online and there is only one entrance. We will meet by the pay station in the parking lot at 10:00 AM. There's a $7 parking fee if you do not have a Regional Park Pass. I encourage carpooling on all our trips.
Here's the info to the Big Day from eBird:
