Did you know that San Francisco still has oak trees that were here before Golden Gate Park even existed—and possibly even before Europeans showed up? 🤯
The Oak Woodlands in the park’s northeast corner are home to some of these coast live oaks, silent witnesses to centuries of fog, wildlife, and human history. This month, we’ll surround ourselves with these elders of the park. Come ready to sketch, take notes, and capture your curiosity about these amazing trees in your journal.
Also, if you joined our previous meetup you may be excited about the MANY lichens in this part of the grove.
We invite you to slow down, notice more, and invite a sense of awe, calm, and wonder into your day.
