Join us for a mostly easy walk/hike on the Glover-Archbold Trail. Come early, because we plan to leave within 10 minutes, and you won't know where to go once we are gone.
At the end of the hike, people may join for the following activities: we will stop by Shemalis (a small falafel and shwarma place), then we'll go to the Katzen Gallery at American University for an evening exhibit opening called "Women Artists of the DMV" https://happeningnext.com/event/women-artists-of-the-dmv-eid3a0cs4c5ia
It's true that those of us who go to the gallery will be going directly from a hike, but it will be September weather, and artists whose work will be on display do like people to see their work.
For the start of the hike, we will meet at the top of the escalators of the Tenleytown-AU train station, outside of the Panera Bread. Address 4501 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016
For people driving in: I recommend parking in the Target/Ace Hardware garage (right across the street from Panera, it involves driving down into a lower level), then you can buy something small from Ace or Target for parking validation.
Do bring shoes that you don't mind getting dirty, and try to remember to bring a water bottle. As always, we will endeavor to leave no trace other than footprints on the trail.
