What we’re about
Since 1892, the Sierra Club has been working to protect communities, wild places, and the planet itself. We are the oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization in the United States. The NC Sierra Club Foothills Group offers outings events, environmental speakers, and conservation dinners. Anyone who is interested in environmental protection, conservation, and the exploration of the wild places of the earth should join in on the fun.

Join us as we hike this moderate trail along a few switchbacks, through meadows, and to an observation tower. The trail begins at Moses Cone Manor and travels along a wide gravel path. There is a short detour to Cone Cemetery for those who enjoy the history of this area. The trail then switchbacks through the forest to the summit with two decent overlooks along the way. Once you reach the top, you will find the fire tower, which offers beautiful 360-degree views.
You will need lunch, water, good walking shoes, and rain gear. Contact Joel Wooten at joeltotopmountain@gmail.com to participate
