What we’re about
Welcome! We meet every first Sunday in SE Portland and every third Sunday in NE Portland, Oregon.
Our community follows the teachings of Ram Dass and Neem Karoli Baba, emphasizing understanding, loving-kindness, and mindfulness. Through these principles, we work together to create a more compassionate and harmonious world.
Before attending, we invite you to explore Ram Dass's teachings to see if they resonate with you. Here's a great introduction to his work: Ram Dass on YouTube
- Satsang Guidelines & Operations
- The Satsang welcomes all people, regardless of background, gender, sexual orientation, or abilities—no creed or dogma required.
- All attendees are considered teachers, and we encourage everyone to share and learn from each other.
- We have no formal affiliation with the Love, Serve, Remember Foundation, though they provide resources and help others find us.
- This Satsang operates on a volunteer basis and is not for personal gain.
- We suggest donations to cover operational costs and maintain our meeting spaces.
Our Shared Commitments: From the Teachings of Maharaji & Ram Dass
In the spirit of love and interconnectedness, we commit to:
- Love Each Other: Actively cultivate love and kindness towards everyone we encounter, regardless of their differences, seeing them as reflections of ourselves.
- Feed Everyone: Embody love to inspire and heal. Treat all with genuine care, recognizing our impact on others. Share wisdom through actions & mindful sharing based on personal experience, rather than the passing around of advice. While we create a supportive environment, we recognize that our satsang complements but does not replace professional therapy.
- Remember God: Honor the divine in each soul, transforming our consciousness and the world, understanding that we are connected to something much greater than ourselves.
As a Satsang, we dedicate ourselves to these practices, recognizing that being love transforms our consciousness and contribute to a ripple effect of love and peace in the world.

RAM DASS SATSANG + BOOK CLUB ❤️
CHAPTER 4
Join us as we continue to read from and discuss the book Polishing the Mirror by Ram Dass with Rameshwar Das.In our past book club Satsangs, we read the chapter together. Some members brought their own book and others shared with each other. Some just listened and chose not to read. We reviewed passages from the script that we felt drawn to, which also spilled off into other stories we each loved about Ram Dass and Maharajji.
This month, we will read from Chapter 4: Aging and Changing. There's no pressure to have read the book or to share aloud—we welcome your presence exactly as you are (in drag and all!). For those interested, the book is freely available to borrow digitally through www.archive.org.
Join us in this loving community space for meditation, journaling, discussion, mutual learning, and gentle chanting or heart-singing at the beginning and end.
Whether you're a long-time follower or new to Ram Dass's teachings, we gather to love each other, "feed" everyone, and remember God. All are welcome to connect, share, and grow in this sacred space.
Please consider a $5-10 donation. Fitness Union has generously offered us this lovely space to meet on a donation basis, and we'd love to honor their kindness by sharing your contributions with them. These donations also help cover our Meetup fees.
