We’re Back: An Inquiry into the Value of Work

Hey, we’re back again! A few things have changed—we’re meeting at a new location: Charlie Brown’s bar and grill in Cap Hill.

When we first started this group, the first topic was on work. It was primarily a conversation that involved the critique of work and the production of tasks for one’s self. We are revisiting the topic of work, and will be exploring themes from the first chapter of the book Shop Class as Soulcraft by Matthew Crawford, in a conversation about work, modern society, and meaning. No reading is required to attend any of the discussions, but if you’re interested in grasping some of the concerns at hand for this event, you can find the book at your local bookstore or online somewhere I’m sure.

Also if you’d like to present please give me a shout or a dm and we’ll schedule your talk on the calendar—philosophical concerns, theological/spiritual concerns, psychological/literary concerns, etc.
