About us

You might know NEMO Science Museum as a place for families with children. But there is more and more to do for adults.
Think talks with scientists, concerts on the rooftop, film screenings, workshops and special evening programmes.
NEMO is a place to be curious, meet new people and experience things you won't find anywhere else. Right in the heart of Amsterdam, with views across the city.

Broken Archive: Role-playing Game
## Broken Archive: Role-playing Game
What stories do family photos hold? On Saturday afternoon, 30 May, you’ll spend an afternoon exploring a family story, together with a small group of participants. This unique live-action role-playing event is a one-off at NEMO, with space for up to 30 people.
## What will you be doing?
Using torn family photos, you’ll play a character in a family drama shaped by complex relationships and shared history. You’ll act out scenes, reveal hidden stories and ultimately uncover why the family archive was destroyed, and by whom. No gaming experience is required. Just curiosity and a willingness to step into someone else’s shoes for a while. The event was developed by artist Jana Romanova, whose own family story forms the basis of Broken Archive.
## Practical
The event will be held in English.
You can visit the museum before the event starts.
A valid ticket for the event is required. Signing up via Meetup is not sufficient.
