In this session, we will use GraphXR, backed by Neo4j, to simulate an epidemic as it travels through a representative population. Using a custom coded simulation extension, we will be able to track the behavior of an epidemic in real-time, gaining statistical insight as it moves through social networks at different infection rates. In the midst of COVID19, this simulation unveils our interconnectedness while depicting the impact of our actions through the rates of transmission in any given epidemic scenario.
Speaker:
Robert Allison is the Director of Product of GraphXR at Kineviz.com. He has a background in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, Southampton University) and Software Development, including positions at the UK's Ministry of Defence and with Apple in Silicon Valley. He has also studied Architecture (BArch, Westminster University), resulting in a strong focus on the crossover between art and technology, between science and design.
