Enchanted Rock Hill Country Camp
Details
Read this entire posting in its entirety. This event is rain or shine unless there is a safety risk. There are specific Texas Parks and Wildlife guidelines for what constitutes a risk to camper safety. If camp is canceled due to safety risk, you will get a full refund of your RSVP fee.
After RSVPing, please fill out this required camper information form.
Come camp, hike, and bike ride with us at beautiful Enchanted Rock State Park! Your RSVP fee covers park entry and camping fees.
Please check out our waiver, a supplies list and some state park camping tips HERE. Both NEO and TPWD waivers must be completely filled out and brought with you. CHECK EVERY LINE and be sure you fill them out completely. If you do not arrive with this paperwork complete, you will slow down the entire camp and possibly cause us to have to abandon or reduce specific fun activities. Please be respectful of your fellow campers who want to get to the fun stuff.
This camp is open to both individuals and families. The fee for this event is $35, whether you are an individual or a family of up to 5 people. Couples must pay for each person. The $35 family rate is meant to encourage family participation with children. This camp is subsidized in part to ensure families with children can afford to participate and try out camping. Families must not have more than 3 adults and must include at least one child. If you are a family, only pay 1 RSVP fee. Do not pay for each family member. All attendees are expected to participate in NEO's programming and activities during the event. Activities will be suitable for all ages and physical abilities.
This is a limited attendance event. Payment can be made here via Paypal or Credit Card. You can also pay fee-free via your bank's Zelle feature to "[[[contact@neoproject.org](mailto:contact@neoproject.org)](mailto:contact@neoproject.org)](mailto:contact@neoproject.org)" or at this QR code link. If you pay via Zelle, please message me so I can add you to the attendee list.
After RSVPing, if you are unable to come to camp for some reason, you may give your spot to someone else or consider it a much-appreciated donation to NEO. If you are RSVPing for a family, please note in the comments how many adults and children will be in your group.
During camp, you will learn how to choose a proper and safe campsite, how to pitch a tent, and some basics of outdoor recreational activities. This will be a great camp for first-timers and experienced outdoorsy people.
In addition to coordinating activities during camp, NEO, in partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife, will provide tents, cots for adults, sleeping mats for kids, stoves for cooking, campfires, s'mores, and bikes.
Activities will include hiking, birding, biking, stargazing, a night hike, and more! We will provide instructions and safety guidelines for all activities. No outdoor experience is necessary to participate.
If you represent a school, church, or youth group that would like to participate, please contact me directly at contact@neoproject.org.
You may arrive in the park at any time on Friday and just enjoy the park. We will meet at the campsite at 5:30PM. Friday and Saturday nights, we will make a group campfire and bring out camp stoves to cook dinner as a group. You will need to bring food for your meals, snacks, and drinks. We will cook as a group and form a nice community for the weekend. This is not an "every man for himself" event. Everyone helps everyone else to make camp enjoyable and run smoothly.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Sunday morning, we will break camp and be completely packed up by 11:00 AM. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PLAN TO LEAVE camp until the entire camp (everyone) is packed up. Once we are packed up, you can choose to enjoy the park for the rest of the day on your own if you like.
Because we plan all activities around RSVPs, NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED for this event unless the event is actually canceled. If you need to cancel for any reason, you can give your spot to someone else or just consider it a donation to NEO. Thank you for understanding.
