Joe Palooka Mt

Please join me on a hike to Joe Palooka MT. The mountain is game lands and has no blazed trails. There will be at least 2 steep climbs. I find this hike intriguing since it has a bird's eye view of downtown Wilkes Barre and illustrates an interesting interplay between nature and civilization. After the view of Wilkes Barre, we'll descend to an area that appears to have been strip mined and abandoned, not recently but somewhere in the middle of the last century. We'll see areas that had been built up and leveled, a foreboding graveyard of large boulders and the indominable strength of good old mother nature as she slowly reclaims her lost beauty. From there we'll trek to a long line of what appears to be exposed glacier created rock. We may then explore a little, just for fun. Expect a hike of 6 to 7ish miles with heart healthy climbs.
