Chopped, but with Golang - Monthly Full Stack Meetup

Details

If you've never seen or heard of the popular cooking show Chopped, this is how it works: Chopped is a cooking competition with three rounds, and in each round the competing chefs are given a basket with four mystery ingredients and have to make a dish that uses all of them in some way.

In this meetup, we'll run a similar friendly competition with Golang - attendees will break up into teams of ~two developers, be given a "basket" of random Golang packages and a "staple pantry", and see what you can come up with before the meetup ends!

We will share what we've each created at the end of the meetup.

The idea is to focus on using your imagination to build something as fast as possible - it doesn't need to be useful, just a clever combination of whatever fate gave you (thanks to Sean Kelly - GH @StabbyCutyou - for the idea and the basket generator).

If you don't already have experience with Golang (it's not required for this meetup), you should follow the instructions for "Installing Go" and "A Tour of Go" at https://golang.org/doc/ before the meetup so that you will have at least a basic understanding of how the language works - or else you might end up on the chopping block 🔪
