Paul Rohorzka - Principal Software Engineer @ SQUER
Paul Rohorzka is a Principal Software Engineer at SQUER Solutions in Vienna. As a seasoned developer, he understands that working out what the customer needs along with good design, well understandable code, and meaningful tests are the key ingredients for project success. Paul loves working closely with his team mates and other stakeholders, striving to make software that's valuable, easy to understand, maintain, and build upon. Paul happily shares his experience in knowledge-sharing sessions, courses, workshops, and talks.
🗣️ Talk: Going Functional with Railway Oriented Programming in C#
With recent changes, C# is evolving into a multi-paradigm language, allowing developers to write code in both object-oriented and increasingly functional styles. Beyond the language’s native features, railway-oriented programming — a concept rooted in functional programming — can also be effectively applied in C#, enabling a clean and focused way of expressing complex processing chains.
In this talk, Paul reflects on how far C# has come in embracing functional ideas. He explores the principles of railway-oriented programming, how it can be applied in large-scale systems, and shares his personal experiences of working with this approach.
