Break the pattern, get more active by introducing walking into your weekly routines..

This is group for regular midweek walks in beautiful scenery of parks in Newport: Belle Vue Park and Tredegar House Park. It is suitable for everyone who aims for more active lifestyle. Walking is a very good place to start.

Joining a walk on a regular basis, you teach your body to gradually adopt to new healthy activities. You gently increase you heart rate, improve blood circulation. You get all the benefits of exercise and satisfaction of getting into new healthy habit and rather than feeling exhausted and tired, as after run or gym session, you are full of energy and positive thoughts. With time your body may even decide that it wants to increase intensity of a training and you may want to start running or trying different sports. Think about how much easier it will be to stick to the new challenge when you already have healthy routine in place.

The chirping of birds, fresh air and a calm environment changes your perception. Along with mental peace it also gives so many other health benefits. Walking fills you with positive energy and prepares for challenges of the day ahead. We're going to practice mindful walking for 15 minutes, where we stop usual talking and concentrate in silence on breathing, body movement and beautiful surroundings. Car Park Onsite pay and display car park - £2 all day, National Trust members free. Alternatively there is few parking spots at Tredegar House Dr, which leads to the park from Duffryn Dr, turn right after The Duffryn Arms. Meeting Point We're meeting next to shops, which are opposite the car park. Dogs Policy You're welcome to walk with a dog. Please keep your dog on a short lead or harness and under control throughout the walk. Important Please ensure that you are fit enough to walk. In case of doubts, please seek medical advice.
