What we're about

Our Group Mission is:

1. Bring together a group of people who love to explore the NYC startup scene and other "business" focused events and professional development/networking activities. We will aim to meet at least monthly in New York City. We host guest speakers, feature pitches, facilitate venture capital, host networking events, and also like to kick back and have fun at dinners and parties.

2. If we can't host/plan and event, we still want to be your source for great things to do in NYC where you can network and also have fun(the best combo!). We will be sending out a daily email of the Top Things To Do each day(most will be free too!). The email will also be archived on our message board so people can comment and gather there. If we cant host the event ourselves, we still hope members can reach out and get together. ****Please not if you do not wish to receive our daily email, you can adjust your settings so you do not get the email ***

We are all about entrepreneurship, networking, and a splash of fun! Events will be in a melting pot of different things, kinda like our great city. Look forward to meeting you!

Your support helps keep this group going during these tough times. Message me with any questions on this. Description: With many of us spending more time at home and in isolation, it is important to stay physically and emotionally sharp! 'How do you get to Carnegie Hall?' "Practice. Practice. Practice." Today, the relatively new science of performance psychology tells us that old answer is incomplete at best. In The Psychology of Performance: How to Be Your Best in Life Free Masterclass, our guest host, clinical sport psychologist Eddie O'Connor, PhD, shares the best ways for you to reach your personal Carnegie Hall based on the latest scientific research - whether your performance environment is music, dance, business, or sport. These often surprising research results will make you rethink your own performance strategies, offering approaches you might never have considered and busting myths you might have taken as truth. As Dr. O'Connor explains, the work of a sport psychologist is not defined by sport, but by the science of performance psychology, the mental aspects of superior performance in settings where excellence is central - usually sports, the performing arts, business, and high-risk professions such as the military. In Dr. O'Connor's work and in this course, sport is a lens through which to view the issues of practice, anxiety, injury, confidence, and more - issues that apply to any performer. We've always known that physical training can reshape our bodies. This exciting research reveals that mental training also can modify the structure and function of our brains, resulting in increased neurological ability to perform a particular skill. Purposeful practice gets you there. Learn why it's the only thing that can. Also, as a follow up to this workshop, once we get back to 'normal' offline events, we will look to have some more in-person events where we can mingle, share ideas, and learn more tips and tricks! Your support helps keep this group going during these tough times. Message me with any questions on this. Description: No better time than now to develop some new tech tools like Photoshop! In this workshop series, we will talk about a variety of different methods of drawing and also how we can use a digital format to enhance these methods. We will start by getting familiar with the basic lines we can create in Photoshop. We'll then get into some principle techniques for the beginning stages of a creation, like gesture drawing and scribble drawing that allow us to get our ideas down on paper without getting too caught up in minute details. Next, we'll work on some methods of line work, like contour lines, that will help us define the shapes of our drawing. We'll also learn how to use hatching to give our drawing tonal value. Finally, we'll take a look at how we can combine our techniques to produce a composition. This workshop series goes over many techniques that you can use in digital drawing and traditional drawing, and by the end of this course you will have a better understanding of how to create your own digital drawing from beginning to end. Also, as a follow up to this workshop, once we get back to 'normal' offline events, we will look to collaborate with other creative events offline and share our creations!
