What we’re about
**ALL IN-PERSON EVENTS WILL BE HELD IN OR AROUND LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM**
A group for all adult (18+) women that are neurodivergent or who’ve maybe taken the AQ test for adult autism, wondered, and want to explore possible autism free from medicalisation and ‘male brain’ theories. There’s really not much known and even less support for women that are autistic and/or neurodivergent in other ways so one of the points of this group is to explore autism and neurodivergence in women and the other is to create our own community networks and critical definitions.
This isn’t a mental health support group, it’s about a place to be ourselves. We’re interested in self-definition, critical theories of neurodiversity, fluid identities, alternative therapies and in what is needed for autistic women to enjoy life. We’re also interested in making better use of digital tools to collaborate and reduce isolation. If you are looking for mental health support, please view our resource page (linked below).
You can view our group policy here. Please be respectful of communication and sensory issues and note that we can’t always accommodate mental health co-(or other)diagnoses. Everyone talking at once through to lurking in the background are absolutely fine as long the space stays constructive and bearable for auties. Come and go as you please, post to comments if you have questions or want to touch base before coming along in person.

Please note this is a trans-inclusive space welcome to both cis and trans women. We have previously admitted all non-binary people however as this is a women's group, it is inappropriate as non-binary people are not 'woman-lite' and they have their own distinct and varied gender identities.
However, if you are non-binary with an experience of womanhood or are trans femme, you are welcome to join the group.

What is Autistic Spectrum/ ADHD Women?
Autism Spectrum/ ADHD women is our monthly online meeting where we sit and chat about a topic related to autism / ADHD usually starts with a quick introduction from everyone (who is willing), followed by an introduction to the topic and a laid-back informal discussion.
We aim to be as low-key as possible, but to avoid trolls there may be a delay if you are new while we confirm you.
Feel free to arrive and leave when you're ready, talk or lurk - no pressure. There's also a chat feature if you'd prefer to communicate in that way.
We ask that, to avoid noise and disruption, you please keep your microphone muted when you are not speaking.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this Sunday to chat over tea and cake in the comfort of your own home - and be in a welcoming space.

Neurodissident Cafe is monthly and is welcoming to new members from around the globe.
We aim to run in person meetings at least once a month or every two months in London. These will be announced ahead of time but upen to RSVPs two weeks before the event starts.

- Material World After Hours – might end earlyKew Gardens Tube Station (outside the station), London
WILL BE CANCELLED IF LESS THAN 5 RSVP (will be mindful of it being an in-person event and not cancel last minute).
Book your ticket here for the 6:30pm slot. It's around £18 depending on concessions or memberships
We'll meet outside Kew Gardens tube station and walk to the event (forgive me if I'm not that chatty on the walk, I'll be map reading and sometimes find multitasking difficult). If you've never been before, aim to be a little early because we won't be waiting for latecomers, 6:20 is when we'll be leaving the station. I'll tell you on the day what I'm wearing (I'll post in the comments of this event and in the WhatsApp community for those that are in that) so you can find me.
The event explores the past, present and future of humans' relationship with nature through fashion, music and making. There will be dance performances, live DJs, poetry readings, sustainable styling sessions, science talks, an artisan market and workshops on natural dyeing, bio-sequin making and seaweed weaving There will also be low-waste botanical food (I'm guessing they mean vegetarian) and drink sold if people want some. We can discuss what appeals to people on the day.
It may be busy and therefore noisy, bring earplugs/noise cancelling earphones or headphones if you think you'll need them. I cannot predict how busy or loud it'll be.
As the title says, this may end early. It's set to end at 9:20pm because that's when the event ends but, if my social battery totally dies before then or most people want to leave earlier, we'll just leave (you're welcome to stay and enjoy without the group if we end up leaving before you're ready to).
