Japan Festival Houston is an annual celebration of Japanese culture held in Houston’s Hermann Park. Enjoy the rich cultural heritage of Japan with traditional and contemporary performances of Japanese music, dance and martial arts, Japanese/Japanese-inspired food, as well as demonstrations and displays of Ikebana flower arrangement, tea ceremony, origami, bonsai and more.

One of the most attended events of its type across the entire United States, the Japan Festival brings about a reaffirmation of a commitment to Japanese and Japanese-American traditions, both old and new.

The event is FREE and open to the public. Vendors will be charging for their food items and merchandise. Participation in select activities will require a fee.

Synopsis: This experience gives anime fans the chance to see never-before-seen episodes of upcoming anime series and seasons before they debut on Crunchyroll in October 2026. Screenings allegedly include (but are not limited to): Overgeared, Firefly Wedding, The Vermilion mask, Psyren, and Black Clover Season 2.

Let's all go and see some seasonal anime previews to contrast all the classic re-releases.

Tips:

1. I’m in seat G6.
2. If you don't see us, we're in the theater.
3. Sometimes movie previews for anime films are short, so the movie MAY start right at 7 PM (depends on chance).
4. We will likely get dinner or boba afterwards with places such as Red Robin, Big City Wings, Aviator Pizza, or Feng Cha within walking distance.

Note: If you RSVP yes but find you can’t make it, please update your RSVP at least two days before the event. We appreciate it! Members with a history of "No Shows" will be removed from RSVPs and possibly removed from the group.

Since the 1950s, Koreans have been an integral part of Houston’s history. Throughout the decades the Korean community quietly preserved its heritage and traditions through local events like small-scale festivals and parades. Prior to 2009, there had not been a unifying event that all of Houston could partake in and bring together the entire Korean-American community.

The enterprising young professionals of the Korean-American Society of Houston (KASH) organized the very first Korean Festival Houston in the Houston Community College – Spring Branch parking lot with the support of local community and business organizations. The success of that inaugural event was clear evidence of the significant demand for the Korean cultural experiences in Houston.
Bolstered by the enthusiastic support from the community, KASH made a bold decision in the very next year to move the Korean Festival to its current home at Discovery Green.
