New Beginnings is a friendly group of people who share a passion for socialising and having fun. Founded over 10 years ago, our group has grown into a vibrant community where like-minded individuals come together.
Our purpose is simple: to provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can meet new friends, participate in fun activities, and create lasting memories. Whether you're looking to explore the great outdoors, enjoy a night at the theatre, dance to live bands, challenge your mind with quizzes, savor meals out, or go on exciting days and weekends away, for example, New Beginnings has something for everyone.
Anyone is welcome to join our group! While we encourage participation from those who are local to the area, to get the most out of our events, the only real requirement is that you are kind, courteous, and ready to have fun.
With New Beginnings, you'll find opportunities to socialise mosts days of the year. From regular meet-ups to special events, there's always something happening during the week.

We ask for a small ‘one-off’ fee of £3 to join the group, we also request that you treat others as you would like to be treated. Guests will need to pay on 1st event too. Please be respectful to hosts and their voluntary time by changing rsvp if you can not attend events to allow others to attend.
We have a small team of hosts who arrange and manage all the events. As you can imagine this would not be a successful group without those individuals putting in some time and effort to arrange all the varied events. If there’s something you would like to do that is not listed feel free to discuss it and we would be happy for you to join the hosting team.

Paid events
All payments should be paid only to NBHT account.
If an advance payment is required through NHBT payment it remains non refundable as the payment would have been paid to secure the event.
Unless someone else moves into the vacant waitlist spot and pays at which time a refund will be given. If not, then it is obvious that a refund is not applicable. Refunds will only be made if cancellation occurs more than 24 hours before an event. Refunds will be made within 7 working days of the replacement paying.
However, if an event is cancelled by the organiser, host or third party then a full refund will be paid if reimbursed in full by the organising company.
Please note if you are disrespectful to another member or copy our events for other groups you will be removed from group. Removal voluntary or not will not entitle you to a refund of our joining fee.

Please join me on a Summer's days cruising along the Wey Navigation from Farncombe to Guildford. We will have the narrowboat from 0930 hours until 1730 hours.
The boat is equipped with hot and cold running water, a small fridge, a kettle and more importantly a lavatory. There is both inside and outside seating.

We have experience of inland waterways cruising, so hopefully we will go in a straight line and we'll get through the six locks safely.
Buoyancy aids are available, please DM me and I will arrange this with the boat yard.
Dogs are welcome, but I have to advise the boat yard in advance of the trip.
There will be the opportunity to steer the craft and to operate the locks. We will be given a short instructional brief by the boatyard prior to departure.
There will be a pub stop for lunch, the location of which will depend on our progress up the navigation.
Sensible footwear should be worn and clothing to suit the weather condition on the day.
Car share should be considered as street parking is restricted near the boatyard. There is a free car park, which is a 5 minute walk from the boatyard.
Please arrive promptly at 0915 hours, as late arrival will shorten the cruising time.
NB This event is very popular and we have decided that only members that have attended 3 or more events should RSVP.
The price quoted is for a full complement of crew members. So please sign up.
Immediate payment is required. ( no refund is offered unless a replacement member can be found)

If we find that we do not have enough members for two boats ( doubtful), then we will hire one boat with the 1st 10 members who RSVP will have priority.
If all spaces are taken please join the waitlist, as members circumstances do change and vacancies occur.
As usual with NBHT no event fee unless you haven't paid your one off joining fee of £3 .
Please advise you host the names of your plus one.
Guest now pay £3 on their first event. If you are unable to attend please amend your RSVP as soon as possible.
