Celebrate Northern Nevada’s heartiest tradition at Chili on the Comstock! Now in its 41st year, the International Chili World Qualifier takes over Virginia City with mouth-watering chili, ice-cold beer, a fiery chili pepper eating challenge, and a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. I plan on doing the chili tastings and watching the chili pepper eating contest. We'll meet at the ATM outside the Bucket of Blood Saloon, then go pick up our tickets.

Some of the best chili cooks in the West are competing for their shot at a spot in the International Chili Society World Finals and your vote for People’s Choice Chili. They’re serving up their tastiest spicy, mild, and chili verde. And you can try them all!
Pair your chili tastings with some frosty brews with the Craft Beer Tour. Virginia City’s famous saloons and the Chili on the Comstock Craft Beer Tents are pouring hand-selected local and regional craft beers all weekend long.
BACK IN 2024 – The Great Fire – Hot Chili Pepper Challenge
See how high you can go up the Scoville Scale before tapping out! Each round of this fiery competition will feature a chili pepper hotter than the last. Contestants will have 2 minutes per round to eat the entire chili pepper. If they take a drink or can’t keep the chili down, they’re out. This event experience features a new challenge and new winners each day!Taste your way through award-winning chili and brews while exploring the historic merchants and saloons of Virginia City. It’s going to be fire!

- Chautauqua Performance and Dinner at the MuseumNevada State Museum, Carson City, NV
The Nevada State Museum is the venue of a special Chautauqua performance by Kim Harris as Anne Hutchinson 'American Jezebel', a 17th Century reformer who stood for religious freedom in the Massachusetts Bay Colony of New England. We'll meet early to take in the museum before the performance and dinner (admission included in your ticket price). See the ticket link below.
The Chautauqua starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Dema Guinn Concourse, followed by a dinner banquet at 6:30 p.m. in the South Gallery. Cost is $40 per person and includes the performance, dinner, no-host bar and free admission to the Museum prior to the Chautauqua.
