The New to Nashville Meetup is where HOME publishes a mix of events built for music creators at every stage — whether you just moved here, have been here for years, or are joining virtually from somewhere else entirely.
Presented by HOME — Helping Our Music Evolve, this group hosts a rotating mix of programming designed to serve the creator holistically in partnership with the Helping Music Foundation:
- Music City Networking — an in-person monthly gathering at HOME's East Nashville facility where the full Nashville music ecosystem shows up. Music creators, business professionals, media people, entrepreneurs, and music tech builders in one space.
- Meet My Music: Virtual Studio Hang — an online session where creators bring what they're working on, share it live, and get real responses from working musicians and industry professionals. No pre-screening, no prior submission.
- Music Creator Mental Health Support Group — a monthly virtual gathering where creators talk honestly about what independent music work actually costs. Peer solidarity, not therapy. Free and open to the public.
- Women's Music Industry Support Group — a monthly in-person confidential gathering for women across all parts of the music industry. Artists, producers, managers, engineers, executives, publicists, and everyone else navigating this world professionally.
Join if you are a musician, songwriter, producer, audio engineer, music industry entrepreneur, entertainment professional, or music-related freelancer.

Music City Networking x Breaking Bread
East Nashville, East Nashville, Nashville, TN, USA, Nashville, TN, USMusic City Networking heads off-site this month (RSVP on Partiful for the address!) for a one-night collaboration with Lockeland House and their Breaking Bread series: live acoustic music, real connection, and fresh bread and butter from Mama Bread.
Music City Networking exists for the connections that actually move a career forward, made in a space where you can show up as yourself. Breaking Bread brings that to life through intimate acoustic performance and a shared table, because songs and stories connect us, but breaking bread together binds us like nothing else.
Founded in 2026 by producer/songwriter Clare "LOLLIES" Reynolds and folk/Americana artist Jordie Lane, Lockeland House has become one of East Nashville's most artist-friendly spaces, built to help the creative community hone their craft, build friendships, and support one another.
The lineup: Alexander Gow, Clare Perrott, Jo Schornikow, Jordie Lane, Melanie MacLaren, Your Friend Juniper, and Maria Shockey.
Featured artist: Maria Shockey, a current artist in the Helping Music Foundation's A&R Program. Based in Nashville, Maria is an independent songwriter blending heartfelt storytelling with a fresh, commercial pop sound: 20+ releases, 1.5M+ streams, and 4.5M+ views, all while staying fully independent. Her latest single "Numb" previews a new project arriving in 2027.

Meet My Music is a virtual studio hang, hosted on Zoom, where music creators gather to share work, talk process, and connect. Every month, HOME members submit tracks for live feedback from Kenny Mullins while the broader creative community joins the conversation in real time.
Kenny is a genre-bending songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with 100 million+ streams across his projects. His work lives on artist releases and across major film and television platforms including Hulu, Netflix, and The Kardashians, spanning pop, country, R&B, soul, reggae, and sync. He's a member of Bopper Music and Sonify Music, endorsed by Fender Guitars and Native Instruments, and a member of ASCAP. He knows what makes a track land and he'll tell you honestly.

Making music independently is one of the lonelier things a person can do. The self-doubt, the financial pressure, the gap between what you're creating and what's landing. Most creators carry all of it alone because there's nowhere else to put it.
This is that place.
Every month, music creators gather virtually to talk honestly about what the work actually costs: the 2am moments when the session didn't go the way you needed it to and you're not sure what you're doing this for anymore.
You don't have to share anything. Listening counts just as much as talking.
Hosted by — a singer, songwriter, and producer who moved to Nashville alone from rural Canada and spent years finding her footing in a city where she knew no one for thousands of miles. Meet My Music is a virtual studio hang where creators bring what they're working on, share it live, and get real responses from working musicians and industry professionals. No pre-screening. No prior submission. Show up, drop a streaming link in the chat, and see what happens.
Anyone can submit. Rough ideas and works in progress are encouraged. If you're testing a new direction or sharing something close to finished, this is a chance to be heard by people who take music seriously.
A few things worth knowing: Share time is limited and the host selects tracks in real time. Not every submission will make it into the session. Stay anyway. Listening to what your peers are building is part of what makes this valuable.
Original work gets the most traction. Helping Music Foundation's A&R team is in the session and keeps an ear out for songs that could lead to sync or publishing opportunities. AI-assisted ideas are welcome for discussion, though they aren't always usable for those types of deals.

Here's a little bit about this week's host and Helping Music Foundation A&R Coordinator:
Ian Osborne is a producer, writer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Nashville whose work spans television, film, animation, and brand campaigns. His credits include Phineas and Ferb, Power Rangers, Miraculous Ladybug, On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, American Ninja Warrior, Top Chef, Love Island, and the 2024 Olympic qualifying coverage, alongside brand work for Kay Jewelers, NASA, and NordicTrack. His artist project Light League placed its first single in the season premiere of All American: Homecoming on The CW.
As A&R Director for the Helping Music Foundation, Ian works directly with artists and producers to develop careers and create new opportunities for music placement. He brings that same focus to every Meet My Music session.
