The New to Nashville Meetup is where HOME publishes a mix of events built for music creators at every stage — whether you just moved here, have been here for years, or are joining virtually from somewhere else entirely.
Presented by HOME — Helping Our Music Evolve, this group hosts a rotating mix of programming designed to serve the creator holistically in partnership with the Helping Music Foundation:
- Music City Networking — an in-person monthly gathering at HOME's East Nashville facility where the full Nashville music ecosystem shows up. Music creators, business professionals, media people, entrepreneurs, and music tech builders in one space.
- Meet My Music: Virtual Studio Hang — an online session where creators bring what they're working on, share it live, and get real responses from working musicians and industry professionals. No pre-screening, no prior submission.
- Music Creator Mental Health Support Group — a monthly virtual gathering where creators talk honestly about what independent music work actually costs. Peer solidarity, not therapy. Free and open to the public.
- Women's Music Industry Support Group — a monthly in-person confidential gathering for women across all parts of the music industry. Artists, producers, managers, engineers, executives, publicists, and everyone else navigating this world professionally.
Join if you are a musician, songwriter, producer, audio engineer, music industry entrepreneur, entertainment professional, or music-related freelancer.

Meet My Music: Virtual Studio Hang

Meet My Music is a virtual studio hang where creators bring what they're working on, share it live, and get real responses from working musicians and industry professionals. No pre-screening. No prior submission. Show up, drop a streaming link in the chat, and see what happens.
Anyone can submit. Rough ideas and works in progress are encouraged. If you're testing a new direction or sharing something close to finished, this is a chance to be heard by people who take music seriously.
A few things worth knowing: Share time is limited and the host selects tracks in real time. Not every submission will make it into the session. Stay anyway. Listening to what your peers are building is part of what makes this valuable.
Original work gets the most traction. Helping Music Foundation's A&R team is in the session and keeps an ear out for songs that could lead to sync or publishing opportunities. AI-assisted ideas are welcome for discussion, though they aren't always usable for those types of deals.

Here's a little bit about this week's host and Helping Music Foundation A&R Coordinator:
Ian Osborne is a producer, writer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Nashville whose work spans television, film, animation, and brand campaigns. His credits include Phineas and Ferb, Power Rangers, Miraculous Ladybug, On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, American Ninja Warrior, Top Chef, Love Island, and the 2024 Olympic qualifying coverage, alongside brand work for Kay Jewelers, NASA, and NordicTrack. His artist project Light League placed its first single in the season premiere of All American: Homecoming on The CW.
As A&R Director for the Helping Music Foundation, Ian works directly with artists and producers to develop careers and create new opportunities for music placement. He brings that same focus to every Meet My Music session.

Meet My Music: Virtual Studio Hang & Sync Deconstruction

This session is built to help you see them... and use them.In this two-part experience, Mimi McCarley will guide creators through a hands-on look at what makes a sync placement work and how to sharpen your own music with sync potential in mind.

We’ll break down a real sync placement from top to bottom. Arrangement, tone, dynamics, lyrics, tempo, mix. You’ll hear what mattered most and why it landed. Learn what serves the scene, supports the story, and earns the placement. No trend-chasing required.>> Part Two: Member Track Workshop
Active HOME members only, this is your chance to bring a song in progress. Something you think could work for sync. We’ll listen, dissect, and offer feedback grounded in what we just learned. The goal is creative clarity: shape your song into something placement-ready.>> Register and RSVP if you want to:

- Understand what supervisors and licensors are listening for
- Watch how songs are reshaped in real time to better fit the brief
