The walk is a circular six miler, maybe a little less.
This is one not to miss if you like beautiful scenery. This walk has it all woods, ponds, open countryside, glorious old properties. The walk is so peaceful, it's a wonderful countryside walk. Myself, Lynn and Joy, after whom the walk is named, did three reckis, and it was so popular when done in April 2021 and April 2023. This seems like a perfect walk for our group and I hope you will join me.

Shackleford village is picture perfect, straight off a postcard with it's listed properties and country views. There is loads of on road parking along The Street, which is a wide and not particularly busy road.
After a short walk past some nice properties it is into open fields, past an interesting house, up a gentle gradient between woods and fields to see great views, on through more woods, past an old manor and onto the common.
We can take a short break where there in a picnic area before reaching the ponds. We will pass three ponds, one with a stream. These are absolutely amazing, before more lovely countryside views. Hopefully the sun will be out. I have no doubt you will love this area and enjoy yourself.
It is just a mile or two off the A3, 10-15 minutes south of Guildford so easily got to.
We will take this walk leisurely, it's to be enjoyed not rushed! We will end the walk back in Shackleford and hopefully the Cyder House will be open, where we can have a well deserved beverage!
NO DOGS PLEASE.
