The Central Park 50 Plus Walking Meetup Is Going Strong!
Do you enjoy walking but would like company for motivation and conversation? The goal of the 50 Plus Meetup is to provide a weekly occasion for meeting walkers like yourself for a one hour walk. Those who wish can proceed to get to know each other better over brunch at a nearby restaurant. Although the walk is only once a week, you may want to expand your walking schedule by arranging for walks during the week with other members.

Start time is promptly at 11 a.m., so it is smart to arrive at least 10 minutes early. We will not wait for latecomers because it detains members who may plan other activities after the walk. After all, New Yorkers play hard as well as work hard.

Where to Meet: At 90th St. and Fifth Avenue, cross the to the entrance to Central Park. Walk across the East Drive for bicycles and runners to the Bridle Path. Meet at the benches to the left. I will be there with a black toy poodle.

To begin with, we will walk the distance around the Bridle Path, the wide dirt path that encircles the reservoir. We will not walk on the elevated jogging path. Members may plan other one hour routes that depart from the same location. Walkers will group according to slow, medium, and brisk walking paces. The faster walkers may complete the walk in 45 minutes. This group is open to both men and women.

Those who wish to meet for brunch will wait at the start point where there are benches. These members will walk to a nearby restaurant. If hard rain or excessive heat will interfere with the walk, cancellation will be posted on the website by 9:45 a.m.

Each member is asked to give $1 per walk to defray the cost of the website.
