Attraction is the force that draws us toward others—emotionally, physically, intellectually, or energetically. It can be instant or gradual, surface-level or deeply rooted, and is influenced by both personal experiences and cultural expectations. Attraction can spark connection, curiosity, desire, or inspiration, and it plays a powerful role in how we form relationships. But it can also be complex—sometimes confusing, sometimes one-sided, sometimes fleeting. In this discussion, we’ll explore what attraction means, what shapes it, how it shows up in different areas of life, and what it reveals about us and our desires.
- How do you personally define attraction, and what forms does it take in your life?
- Which factors—such as physical appearance, shared interests, or emotional connection—most influence your sense of attraction?
- Can you share a time when you felt unexpectedly drawn to someone? What do you think sparked it?
- How does familiarity or repeated exposure to someone affect your level of attraction toward them?
- How do different types of attraction (e.g., romantic vs. platonic) manifest in your relationships?
- How do you distinguish between genuine attraction and projection or fantasy?
- What role does self-awareness play in recognizing and understanding your attractions?
- How do you think attraction evolves over time within long-term relationships?
- How do you think your past experiences or relationship patterns influence who you’re attracted to?
- Can you be strongly attracted to someone even if you’re not compatible in the long term?
- How much of attraction do you think is instinctive versus influenced by culture or media?
- Can attraction be consciously redirected or reshaped, or is it mostly beyond our control?
These are just some of the questions we will discuss during our meetup. No preparation needed, just bring yourself and a willingness to listen and share your thoughts.
The meetup will be structured in a way to promote small group discussion so everyone has a chance to listen, be heard, and really dive into the discussion.

Every week on Thursday until June 18, 2025
