We’ll start our adventure at Old Bethpage Village Restoration, a full scale recreation of a mid-1800s Long Island village. Costumed guides, blacksmith shops, general stores, and historic homes bring the 19th century to life. It’s immersive, quirky, and surprisingly fun, like walking onto the set of a period film. We’ll explore the village at a relaxed pace, with time to poke into buildings and watch demos (yes, there may be butter churning).
We'll then head to Old Westbury Gardens, one of Long Island’s most stunning historic estates. We have been there in the spring but never during the summer when the plant life is fully alive. The grounds are a dream: formal gardens, ponds, woodlands, and the stately Westbury House.
We will meet in the city and travel together in a comfortable passenger van.
