About us
We're trying to get more games of Mahjong going in Newcastle (UK) and North East England.
All main kinds of Mahjong covered - with focus on "Hong Kong old style" and Japanese Riichi rules, and all interests from casual beginners up to competitive tournament play.
No worries if you've never played before - typically there will be a few beginners at each session and we're more than happy to explain the basics, so please do consider joining in.
The twice-monthly sessions listed here are just the minimum, as a way to get people started. Please consider using the Facebook group or the discussion section here to see who else is near to you, interested in the same style of play (eg social and casual, or competitive riichi, or adrenaline-junkie sanma, ...), and keen to start a regular session. Doesn't have to be Newcastle either. I suspect quite a few of us would be keen to play more (much more) than twice a month! The rest is up to you!
