We held our last Open Mic Night of the year this Thursday 3rd, another busy sold out event, 9 companies pitching and a full house, the videos will be out soon and I’ll drop you all a line once they’re live. 1. New Video from our Sydney Chapter – A fireside chat with Adrian Lovney of The New Payments Platform (NPP)

Australia is leading here by commissioning a new payments infrastructure service with access for a wide range of financial services companies and various ‘overlay services’, well worth watching if you’re into payments

2. London FinTech Podcast: Special Episode! A Deep-Dive into AI, Machine Learning, Big Data & FS w/Dr Tristan Fletcher Research Director Thought Machine

The latest of Mike Baliman’s interviews with key FinTech-ers. This month it’s Dr Tristan Fletcher Research Director at Thought Machine to talk about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Financial Services. His Linkedin strapline is “I apply state of the art prediction methods from the Machine Learning (Artificial Intelligence) academic community to real world problems”. This is a mega hot topic right now and also one all too often hyped beyond all belief and frankly credibility.

· Tyro’s new boss Gerd Schenkel says fintech revolution mostly hype - at the moment it’s difficult to separate the hype from the real benefits that will inevitably come

· Swiss propose light-touch rules to lure fintech sector - Easing rules could help reduce barriers to market entry

· Fintech firms pose no risk to financial system G20 watchdog says - "In our judgment, most fintech at this stage, have not come to a point where systemic financial system risks are posed,"

· Fintech firms moving from London to Berlin after Brexit V. XERO CEO: London's fintech scene is 'world class' and will stay that way post-Brexit

4. Visitors to London

· Chris Gogol, founder and CEO of WealthArc, a Swiss B2B WealthTech start-up will be coming to London 9-11 November and happy to meet with people from the FinTech community. · Fintech startup TradeRiser is currently looking for private beta users, to test their Research Assistant platform for the financial markets. · CityFALCON have already exceeded their target raise of £150K on Seedrs and are looking to close the round soon. They provide personalised financial news to consumers for free and to businesses for a small licensing fee to access the company’s API
