Exploration of Duns Scotus!
“We hope to understand why Scotus is considered one of the great medieval philosophers, and to become familiar with some of his main ideas.”

This week we examine: How do we know what is true? Section V (pp. 114–123): "Article II: Rejection of Scepticism," "Certitude of Sense Knowledge"
Can we trust our senses? How do we move from experience to understanding? Is certainty possible? Scotus offers a powerful challenge to modern assumptions and invites us to see the world not as a problem to escape, but as a reality we are naturally equipped to know.
Our meetups are completely free. If you enjoy relaxed, thoughtful discussion, you’ll fit right in. Come join the conversation!
Each week, we have a number of short presentations by different participants on the reading, followed by discussion.
Location: Café in Newcastle West, Fenham – contact David (dv.inbox@icloud.com) for more details.
