PHILOSOPHY DISCUSSION GROUP FOR 50+ FOLKS

This time we are going to talk about the Golden Rule. That sounds BORING but it isn't. First we will say what it is, and who says it. Then we will ask the question: do we use it today? Do you use it? When?

Are our politics today based on the Golden Rule? Why not? And then we will get into the Platinum Rule, the Utilitarian view, Kan'ts Categorical Imperative, and the Rawl's Veil of Ignorance.

THEN WE GO TO HAPPY HOUR AT EL CHOLO and pretend to discuss things but mostly eat tacos.

Even though few MeetUp people sign up, we typcally get 20-30 people in the discussion group. Here's the scoop. When you are over 50 years old, lots of weird and strange things happen and it's a great time to think about WHAT IT ALL MEANS.

In this discussion group, we will discuss a variety of philosophy topics, and try to understand how they affect our lives.

This will be low key: lots of talking, not much lecturing, and the concepts will be made easy. It will be FUN! I promise or your money back! Except it's free anyway!

We'll talk about cool things like Plato's allegory of the cave, the Myth of Sisyphus, and ALL SORTS of topics. Ovens will be available so we can BAKE OUR OWN PHILOSOPHY! I mean, conceptually.
